Edina Art Fair adopts LFM as charity partner

The Lupus Foundation of Minnesota (LFM) has been selected as the charity partner of one of the largest art fairs in Minnesota: the Edina Art Fair. In its 47th year, the event takes place May 31-June 2 at the 50th and France quarter in Edina.

This year, the Fair has dedicated all proceeds from souvenir merchandise sales to LFM. Look for T-shirts on sale at several information booths throughout the fair including one of the booths which will be staffed by LFM employees, board members and volunteers.

In addition, fifteen percent of revenue from the Fair’s first-ever art auction will also come directly to LFM.

“The (Edina Art Fair) committee decided to support this cause because someone very special to us all has lupus,” said Rachel Thelemann, Executive Director of the 50th & France Business & Professional Association, hosts of the fair.

“We will continue to support LFM in anyway we can”, said Thelemann. The partnership extends beyond the Fair, as the association conducts other fundraising and awareness-raising activities for LFM, and contributes to and participates in foundation events like the Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run.

“Partnerships like these are very important to LFM. They help us raise awareness and reach people we simply couldn’t on our own. Funds raised go towards our ongoing efforts in support of lupus research, and emergency grants for those impacted by the disease,” said LFM President Jennifer Monroe.

As spring looks more and more promising, come out to support this partnership. Experience art work from 320 artists, strolling entertainment, acoustic performances, a kids’ area, food vendors and the art auction. The art auction will also be available online at WinningCause.org.

The fair opens at 10 a.m. daily, closing at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Visit the Edina Art Fair website for additional details.
