VolunteerThe Lupus Foundation of Minnesota (LFM) always needs extra hands to help those whose lives are touched by lupus. Complete the Volunteer Application and consider involvement in one of the following areas:

Lupus Ambassador

Represent LFM and those living with lupus by being a Lupus Ambassador. Selected on an annual basis, this volunteer position provides a “face” and “voice” to lupus, especially in conjunction with LFM fundraisers, such as the Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run events, and media appearances. To be considered, please complete the volunteer application and return it to LFM, along with a brief statement about why you’d be a good Lupus Ambassador. For further insights, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Educational Support Group Facilitator

Meet regularly with people living with lupus, discuss various aspects of living with the disease and be available for phone support to answer questions about living with lupus. Most Educational Support Group facilitators have lupus or have a family member with lupus; however, it’s not required. LFM offers training to interested facilitators. If you are interested in participating in an educational support group training and starting a group in your community, please contact Sandy Parnell, Director of Education.

Special Event Volunteer

Attend one of the many events, expos or health and wellness fairs throughout the year. Duties vary, but may include set-up, clean-up, distributing information and selling items.

Special Event Committee Members

Assist in planning and organizing creative special events. Responsibilities differ by event and accommodate most physical limitations. Current annual events include the Lupus Food & Wine Classic and the Lupus Walk for Hope and 5K Run in the Twin Cities, Rochester and Duluth.

Office Volunteer

Help fulfill our mission and daily requests for support and educational information. Projects include light data entry (especially before and after events) assisting with mailings, distributing information and other general office tasks. To volunteer, please submit an application. For more information on any of the volunteer positions, contact the LFM development staff.

Third-Party Fundraising

Plan an event to benefit the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota. There are countless ways to raise funds and we’re open to exploring ideas with you. All events do require a letter of approval from LFM. Contact us to discuss your ideas!
