Assist in designing and developing a new volunteer program. Responsibilities may include researching (and eventually contacting) local organizations that promote volunteerism. Organize comprehensive and creative recruitment packets to attract both organizational and individual volunteers. This includes designing layout, copywriting, getting production quotes and possibly acquiring funding. Assist in volunteer recruitment for special events by creating and placing “Want Ads” with various volunteer organizations. Calling previous volunteers and members and other assorted volunteer activities.

Office Volunteer

Help fulfill the LMF mission and daily requests for support and educational information. Projects include light data entry (especially before and after events), photo copying, creating information packets, organizing files, distributing information and other general office tasks. Duties vary and volunteers are requested as needed.

Special Event / Expo Volunteer

Attend one of the many events, expos, or health and wellness fairs that occur throughout the year. Duties vary, but may include set-up, clean-up, distributing information, selling items and other like activities. Health and wellness venues are great opportunities for "social butterflies" who can raise awareness, educate people about lupus and have fun meeting new people all at the same time!

Special Event Committee Members

Join the President and other volunteers in expanding your communication and planning skills for and organize creative special events. Responsibilities differ by event and accommodate most physical limitations. Current annual events include the Lupus Golf Classic and Lupus Walk for Hope. Possible tasks may include written and phone contact for auction and prize acquisition, writing and distributing media/public relations kits, data entry, bulk mailings, attending event committee meetings, creating new and original fund raising events or resources and other related duties.
