The Lupus Foundation of Minnesota has a 30-year history of funding lupus research. Over much of that time, physicians and scientists at the University of Minnesota (U of M) have been our focus for research grant-making. For the past several years, largely due to the influence of Dr. Timothy Behrens, formerly of the U of M autoimmunity center, the Foundation’s research funding has emphasized lupus genetics research. We are enthusiastic about the discovery occurring in this research niche and intend for the foreseeable future to continue that focus. In thirty years of research support, the Foundation has provided over $1.4 million. Through its various sources of fund raising, the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota has provided over $750,000 of research support in just the last five years alone!
It is our objective to use this section of the website to keep you apprised of developments in lupus genetics research, especially related to work done under funding from Foundation grants. The website also provides you a variety of ways that you can support lupus genetics research by channeling your contributions through the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota.
