Your donations have made it possible for the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota (LFM) to provide vital programs and services for people living with lupus and their supporters.
Apogee, LLC (a subsidiary of Savers) acts as a professional fundraiser for LFM by hosting the pickup website, making calls, scheduling, and conducting the home pick ups of your in-kind donations to LFM. LFM then sells these collected items to Apogee, LLC based on weight, and the proceeds support the work of LFM.
In addition to the pick-up service, donations of used clothing and household items to benefit LFM can also be dropped off at one of two designated locations within Unique Thrift Store locations (owned by Apogee, LLC) in the Twin Cities. Those items are collected, weighed and the proceeds from their sale go to support LFM. Those drop-off locations include:
Unique Thrift Stores located at:
|4471 Winnetka Ave. N.
New Hope, MN
|2201 37th Ave. NE
Columbia Heights, MN
The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that as much as 85 percent of used textiles end up in landfills. The Lupus Pickup Service was recently recognized in Anoka County for effective recycling efforts by collecting unwanted items for re-use. Recycle your unwanted items while you support LFM.
Federal tax law only allows the taxpayer to take a deduction for the price at which donated goods are likely to be sold.
