Affecting one in every 1,000 women in fertile age, lupus can flare in pregnancy and lead to complications including pre-eclampsia, neo-natal lupus or fetal loss. This webinar, presented by Dr. Parastoo Fazeli, will cover the risks involved with pregnancy in women with lupus. Participants will learn the proper monitoring and management of pregnancy in women with lupus, including the use of alternative therapy and the role of vitamins and supplements in lupus.
Dr. Fazeli is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Minnesota Lupus Clinic. In 2008, she completed her internal medicine internship and residency at St. Agnes Hospital affiliated with one of The Johns Hopkins hospitals. She was a chief resident during her third year of residency.
In 2009, Dr. Fazeli completed a Lupus Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. In 2011, she completed her fellowship training in rheumatology at the University of Virginia, serving as a chief fellow during her second year of fellowship. In August 2011, Fazeli joined the University of Minnesota as the director of the Lupus Clinic.
