LFM Vice President of Client Services Cheryl Como, LICSW, will present the workshop “Creating a New Normal with Chronic Disease: Helping Your Client Through Transition” at the 2012 Minnesota Social Service Association’s (MSSA) 119th Annual Training Conference & Expo, YOUnited. Chronic disease can come to represent living with loss. Helping clients manage the fear, grief, loss and stigma associated with being “the sick one” is essential for those suffering with the unpredictable nature of chronic illness and its impact on everyday life. The workshop is based on a support program focused on knowledge and empowerment through a cognitive approach.
