Chronic disease can come to represent living with loss. Helping clients manage the fear, grief, loss and stigma associated with being “the sick one” is essential for those suffering with the unpredictable nature of chronic illness and its impact on everyday life. This workshop is based on a
support program focused on knowledge and empowerment through a cognitive approach.
Goals:
- Examine the underlying trauma leading up to and after diagnosis
- Address the role of resistance in situations of forced transition and change
- Introduce the six essential ingredients that help clients move forward with acceptance and transition
