What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture was developed in China over 2,500 years ago to treat illness and prevent disease. Thin, sterile, disposable needles are inserted in precise acupuncture points to promote the movement of the body’s natural energy or qi (pronounced CHEE). Needling these points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals that, in turn, stimulate the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These chemicals reduce pain and inflammation.
About Amy: Amy is a licensed acupuncturist with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from the Minnesota College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Northwestern Health Sciences University. Amy is passionate about bridging the gap between Eastern and Western medicine by helping people experience the benefits of preventative and alternative care.
