Dear Friends of the Foundation,
As chair of the Board of Directors for the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota (LFM), I extend my deepest appreciation for your support of our organization. Back in January, I first notified you of the Board’s very difficult decision to dissolve LFM due to the increasingly unsustainable economic realities that we face.
Today, as LFM enters the final stages of dissolving, we can now tell you how the organization’s remaining assets will be used moving forward. The LFM Board of Directors has named Lupus Link Minnesota, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, as the sole recipient of assets, which includes the endowment that will continue to fund lupus research.
Recently formed, we chose Lupus Link Minnesota because they share the LFM vision and mission to advance knowledge and mobilize people and resources to improve the lives of all Minnesotans and those beyond who are affected by lupus and related autoimmune diseases.
The initial Lupus Link Minnesota leadership team is comprised of remarkably talented individuals. We will provide an in-depth background on them in our next communication.
Once again, on behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at the Lupus Foundation of Minnesota, thank you for everything you have done to support the mission of our organization. We are grateful for the dedication and generosity you’ve shared with us throughout the years.
Our collective journey continues with a new organization taking the lead. With that said, Lupus Link Minnesota will need each of you to remain committed to the cause to achieve our shared goal of a world without lupus.
Chair, Board of Directors
