Coordination
STAFF

Assist
in designing and developing a new volunteer program. Responsibilities
may include researching (and eventually contacting) local organizations
that promote volunteerism. Organize comprehensive and creative
recruitment packets to attract both organizational and individual
volunteers. This includes designing layout, writing body copy,
getting production quotes and possible funding. Assist in volunteer
recruitment for special events by creating and placing “Want Ads”
with various volunteer organizations, calling previous volunteers
and members, etc.

Timberly Williams
Meet
regularly with individuals who have lupus; discuss various aspects
of living with the disease, or be available for phone support
in your area to answer questions about living with lupus. Most
support group facilitators have lupus or a family member with
lupus, however, this is not required.

Help
fulfill LMF's mission and daily requests for support and educational
information. Projects include light data entry (especially
before and after events); photo copying; creating information
packets; organizing files; distributing information and other
general office tasks. Duties vary and volunteers are requested
as needed.
Special
Event / Expo Volunteer
STAFF

Attend
one of the many events, expos, or health and wellness fairs that
occur throughout the year. Duties vary, but may include set-up,
clean-up,distributing information, selling items, etc. Health
and wellness venues are great opportunities for "social butterflies".
You can raise awareness, educate people about lupus and have fun
meeting new people all at the same time!
Special
Event Committee Members

Join
the President and other volunteers in expanding your communication
and planning skills for creative, organized special events. Responsibilities
differ by event and accommodate most physical limitations. Current
annual events include the Lupus Golf Classic and Lupus Walk for
Hope. Possible tasks may include written and phone contact for
auction and prize acquisition, writing and distributing media/public
relations kits, data entry, bulk mailings, attending event committee
meetings, creating new and original fund raising events or resources,
and other related duties.
