It's
FREE!
Following
are some ways that donations
are used
to benefit the lupus community.
Education
$1.00 - $74.00
assists with the creation
and purchase of materials such as brochures, books and bracelets
so that we're able to better inform our communities about LUPUS.
$75
pays to host our web
site, www.lupusmn.org,
for about three months. As technology advances, the importance
of providing accurate, timely and reliable information on the
internet becomes more and more important. On average, ten to fifteen
thousand users access our web site each month.
Support

$25
pays for travel and other expenses to make visits to homebound
clients.
$50
provides crisis money for an individual with lupus. Examples include
food, winter coats, personal supplies, etc.
$100
pays for outreach to people who are hospitalized. Visits serve
not only to boost the patient's morale, but also as an opportunity
for Client Services to ensure that the patient and her/his family
are receiving necessary services.
$500 ($41
per month) provides one Horizon
Emergency Grant. These are used
to cover emergency expenses not covered by other resources. These
grants have literally saved people from homelessness by assisting
with the cost of unexpected medical expenses, rent/mortgage, tools
to improve mobility, personal care attendants and more.
Research
Your
gift of any size may be combined with earnings
from our
Susan
Barry Meckstroth Lupus Research Endowment Fund,
encouraging
scientists and students to continue the exploration of
promising
results being found in labs and seen in lupus patients.
Since
its inception in 1976, The Lupus Foundation of MN has awarded
Student
Summer Fellowships and Annual Grants
in excess
of $1.2 million, funding vital research into
locating
the causes of and a cure for lupus.
THANK
YOU, FRIEND.
